This week I want to take a look at mental health a little, with a review of a bestselling self-help book. I know this could go under the review page, but for the topic and the fact that it is a book, there is a lot more substance to this post, is the reason I put book reviews a lot of the time here in my posts.
The book this week, we recommended when I did my fitness internship at a gym, it is “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck” by Mark Manson. This book helps you examine what you care about, how happiness comes from solving problems, finding responsibility over blame, embracing ordinariness, growth coming from failure, the importance of values, and living for a purpose.

So why was this given to me as a task during my fitness internship? I don’t have the exact reason behind it, but it puts one in the right mindset and direction to be able to work with others and put others in the right direction. Manson takes self-help to a newer direction with bluntness, and it honestly works in this case, sometimes people need the blunt reality of life to be able to get past some of the trials and tribulations. I honestly recommend this book even if you don’t think you need a “self-help” book it can show you a lot about yourself still that you may not know and about how others around you are.
As a result of this review, I am asking a question this week. How are you going to embrace your ordinariness?
