A little mental health break with some paradise

This week let’s take a mental health break and let’s review Margaritaville Resorts Orlando — from a pregnancy perspective.  Now, let me pre-emptive this, this is not endorsed, or payment being received by the resort.  My husband and I are just fans of the resort and have been here 3 times, along with once to the Hollywood Beach Resort one, and the Jacksonville Beach Hotel. We are huge fans of the resorts and want to visit more in the future, I have even come up with my own version of a Cheeseburger in Paradise after seeing them at the resort. However, this is the first time I have been there pregnant and there is a world of difference going there this year as opposed to previous years.

The first is the obvious, drinking, sometimes when you are on a vacation you just want to sit back, relax and have a drink.  Well, you can’t enjoy that pleasure when pregnant, however they do over selected non-alcoholic beverages, that have an amazing taste so that you don’t remember that it doesn’t have alcohol.  I just wished there were more options and options for drinks on the rocks, all the ones I had were frozen only it felt like.  They should invest in some non-alcoholic spirits like Trejo’s Spirits and come up with some new options for those who cannot drink, show them the same love you have for those who do drink.

Now the lack of being able to use certain amenities, is sad, like the hot tub or some of the Spa stuff (i.e. sauna), but honestly, it’s worth the extra money there to go the extra mile, like when I was there, I got a mani/pedi (which I haven’t had in like 10 years) and we had 2 days in a Cabana,  just so I was comfortable by the pool. It’s worth the extra mile, and the prices were more reasonable this year there than they have been in previous years.

They also have a good kid’s section in their store, that has the cutest onesies that we were able to buy for our future baby.  The resort is actually fairly kid friendly, which is a positive because we really like going to these resorts.

So, so far so good, however the biggest blunder I would say is the beds are not pregnant friendly, they are high, and it was a pain getting on and off, I had to use the bench to climb in and out of the bed.  In retrospect, I probably should have booked a handicap accessible room, however, how was I to know or remember that the beds were this high and could be an issue.  Last year we went to the Hollywood Beach Resort Margaritaville, so we haven’t been to the Orlando one in 2 years.

Overall, I think this was a successful trip for us, we were able to do a lot of walking around the resort, and the “downtown” area in front of the resort, so we had a lot of options, and it was a good last trip to relax before the baby is born (and we plan on play Jimmy Buffett music during the delivery to help with relaxation).   I highly recommend for anyone in any position to at least visit Margaritaville Resort or Hotel in their life, they have such a relaxing atmosphere. I think we are hoping for the Pocono’s Resort to open for us in time for our annual trip.
