Halloween Special

Happy Halloween!  Now last year, I had created what I thought was an awesome post of Garlic… However, this year, I am going to be a spoil sport… I mean we are supposed to be health focused right?  So today of all day we are going to look at the effects of too much sugar, I know BOOOOOO!  Especially, since I teased you last week with a sweet post on honey.  However, in the spirit of Halloween, this post is meant to SCARE you.

So, let’s begin –

We are going to start with the obvious because it can lead to a lot of other problems with having too much sugar.  The obvious being Weight Gain.  Sugar has a huge effect on the obesity rate, and it comes a lot from sugary drinks.  And too much sugar = weight gain, which increases the risk of type 2 diabetes. With the weight gain, there is also an increased risk to heart disease because it also effects blood sugar and blood pressure levels.

Now the not weight gain related issues, there is acne, if you are eating too much processed swears, your blood sugar will rise, which causes insulin to rise, which results in well, acne. Not only does it play havoc in giving you acne, it can also make you look older than you are too, so cut back and take care of your skin.

Next, there is an increased risk to cancer, as the diets high in sugar increase your bodies inflammation and then of course causes insulin resistance, which is an increased risk to getting cancer.

Then there are the mood changes, sugar blocks channels in your system that is linked to cognitive impairments, memory problems, and emotional disorders.  Which causes you of course to have those issues.

And finally, I am going to touch base on draining your energy, sugar is fun for a short period of time, it gives you that burst of energy; however, it only lasts a short while before you crash.

Sugar is fine in moderation, but be careful, how much you eat to protect your own health.  And there are plenty of more problems with eating too much sugar, but these are ones that really that can resonate with you.
