Apple Cider Vinegar – Healthy or a Wives Tale?

Another week, another post, and this week we are looking at the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar on human health.  Let’s begin by understanding what exactly Apple Cider Vinegar is, it is most apple juice with sugar added, it’s fermented and sits a long time before becoming vinegar. What you don’t know is that it can be used for a variety of things.

To begin, some old wives tales, it can be used to treat a sore throat and to treat varicose veins.  However, there is no science back this, it is an old wives tale.  Next as a part of history, the Greeks used Apple Cider Vinegar to treat wounds.

However, nowadays we have discovered a variety of other treatments such as

  • Weight loss
  • Improves heart health
  • Treatment of dandruff
  • Lowers blood sugar
  • Eczema relief
  • Kills germs
  • Lower cholesterol

As always through check with a doctor before usage, as there could be some serious consequences to taking it daily. For instance, let say you have a low potassium condition this could only aggravate the condition and make it worse.

Also, don’t drink it straight as well, always add 1-2 TBSP (if not more) of water or tea to the apple cider vinegar, drinking it straight can erode your teeth enamel.

Overall, depending on what you are trying to achieve and can take the taste of apple cider vinegar, it could help, just be careful of usage.
