Standing Desk Versus Yoga Ball

This week, we are going to focus on things to make you healthier in the office — standing desk versus yoga ball.  Now I use both, at home, I have a yoga ball chair for my at home office set up and when I go into the office I have a standing desk.  And of course you have seen Thor’s reviews, I also have a desk attachment for my treadmill, but that one is beside the point.  Now let’s look at the differences between the standing desk and the yoga ball and you can make the choice of what you would prefer:

Standing Desk

  • Burns calories
  • Can give you more energy
  • Improves posture
  • Reduces back pain
  • Helps with wrist positioning (its ergonomic)
  • Boosts mood and focus
  • Keeps circulation going

Yoga Ball

  • Gives core strength
  • Burns calories
  • Increases movement
  • Ball can roll out from under you
  • More odds of falling

Now with the yoga ball, if the last two are a concern, I would really consider getting a chair option, they can be purchased on Amazon for cheap and it puts the yoga ball on a stand and prevents the actual last two bullet points from happening. This is actually what I use-
